Programs for dairy goats
Considering the influence of light on the biological processes of goats, IRA-D LTD. created a light program for stimulation of the milk yield in breeding of goats in closed premises. This program is the prerequisite for increase of the milk yield in the last days of the year when goats spend most of the time in cattle-sheds. Factors such as the age of the goats, their lactation and dry periods, the reproductive maturity, health status and others have been taken into consideration in the development of the program. | Photoperiod: Depending on the age, dry or lactation period, the sexual maturity of the cows, the respective wave length of the photoperiod is selected /light and dark time of the twenty-four-hour period/. | |
| Intensity of light: The intensity of light is calculated in such values that the light period is to be perceived by the cow as a day and the dark one – as night. | |
| Light spectrum: The program works with two main spectra of light / white light and LED red light /. The first light stimulates the process of milk secretion in cows and the second one prepares the cows for night’s rest, relaxation and full restoration of the organism. | |
